Lindale Holsteins is located 60 miles west of Chicago, Illinois, in Hampshire. Dale and Linda operate the farm with their son, Jeff, and two full-time employees, Randy Wesemann, and Kevin Kriegel. Their daughter, Julie, also designs all advertisements and maintains their website.
We began dairying at our present location after our marriage in 1974; our partnership with Dale’s parents, George and Marcella, progressed until January of 2009 when we took on the farming operation completely as Lindale Holsteins.
Throughout the years of showing cattle—in 4-H, FFA, and at Holstein shows—Lindale Holsteins has improved its genetics through breeding cows and good cattle purchases. We purchased Linda's father’s herd in 1988; both Dynasty and Frisky can be traced back to this herd. In 2005 we purchased the herd of David Gardner, of Solon Mills, Illinois.
Currently we farm 640 acres of corn, soybeans, oats, wheat, and hay. The June 2010 DHIA RHA was 24,400 lbs. milk, 945 lbs. fat, and 766 lbs. protein on 178 cows.
Many of our elite animals are on a flush program, including the recent use of IVF. If you are interested in any progeny of the cows listed here, or for inquiries on specific matings, please let us know. Inquiries are always welcome!
We were honored to be featured in the May 2010 issue of Holstein World!
